So, What are Cheek Dermal Fillers?
Cheek Dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment, designed to:
• add or replace lost volume.
• smooth unwanted lines/wrinkles/dimples
• contour the face, through emphasising the natural shape of the cheek bones
The combination of these 3 things allows for additional volume and definition in the right areas of the face; which is why cheek fillers are fast becoming a desired cosmetic choice in aesthetics.
Why might people want to get Cheek Dermal Fillers?
People can be interested in cheek dermal fillers for a number of reasons. For example;
All our faces change as we grow older; due to a number of factors such as
• gravitational pull, which can cause sagging
• weight loss or gain, which can cause excessive/not enough volume in the face
• loss of Hyaluronic Acid – a naturally occurring substance which attracts and holds moisture, making for plump, hydrated skin
• environmental influences – weather conditions, diet etc.
Perhaps, if you believe your cheeks/cheek bones have lost their original lift, cheek dermal fillers may be the best option to give you a natural looking boost!
Some clients may opt for cheek fillers to add rather than replace volume as they desire a more chisseled, contoured look - which is very on trend at the moment.
Nose to Mouth Lines (Nasiolabial Folds)
If you suffer from unwanted nasiolabial folds (mouth to nose lines), investing in cheek fillers may be a good alternative to treat the problem.
The fat pads in our cheeks begin to drop over time, causing the face to sag and create deep creases/folds. Previously, we would have treated this issue by actually filling the nasiolabial folds. In time,we have realised that by adding back that lost structure to the cheeks - we can provide a lifted effect without adding any 'heaviness' to the lower face.
As you can see, there are various reasons why cheek dermal fillers might be the way to go. Keep an eye out for our next blog, we'll look into the different brands of fillers we use at SkinHD and what makes them all individually great!
