Introducing Sculptra | SkinHD

We are now offering a new skin treatment at SkinHD – Sculptra!

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable cosmetic filler, made mostly of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It was first formulated in 1999, and then FDA approved in 2004 to treat fat loss in people living with HIV.

Sculptra is classed as a collagen stimulator as it helps to boost collagen product from deep within the skin.

How does it work?

Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis of the skin, where collagen strands supports skin structure. Upon arrival at your appointment, your skin will be prepped with numbing cream to make for a more comfortable procedure. The treatment includes 2 sessions (which are usually 4-6 weeks apart. Your practitioner will then book you in for an assessment, 6-8 weeks after your 2nd treatment to review your results. The results with Sculptra are gradual, improving over time, but tend to be noticeable around 6 weeks after your second treatment and can last up to 2 years.
